All in the Edit
Two years ago, I took my very first photojournalism class. When I registered for the course I knew I loved photography and taking pictures was something I already enjoyed doing. However, I didn't know how easy or hard the class could turn out to be. First week of class I started to learn about cameras, how to use certain DSLR cameras, how to capture a certain picture, and how to use adobe photoshop. As it seemed hard for others, it came natural to me. I was eager to get the first assignment.
After getting that assignment and a few days later, I purchased my first and very own Nikon DLSR camera. After that I couldn't wait to put it to use. The photos below are some of the photos from my first assignment. Some I had to keep shooting to get that perfect shot, and other I captured on the first try. I definitely underestimated myself until I actually started to look and edit the photos. When it comes to photography, editing plays a huge part. It can definitely transform a photo. I think editing is where my strength lays. It takes practice to really master editing, but when you love it, it's a piece of cake.
Through the semester, I continued to impress my teacher with my work ethic, and continuous progress. I kept getting better & better each assignment. By the end of the semester, I completely blew many professors away and surprised myself at how good I became & was at photography. I then won best photography portfolio out of the whole communications/ photography program. By then I realized that photography was something I wanted to continue to learn and get better at. I haven't stopped since. It's definitely a part of me now and great hobby.
Most of these photos were taken to get the assignment done and also me experimenting, however I loved how they turned out. As time progresses, you will begin to see where I am in my photography and where I started. Which is pretty much what I want for this blog. To show me learning, changing, and getting better with time in my abilities.
Life through the Lens!
